Our Client deploys and maintains High Performance Computing and advanced ICT infrastructure to support National researchers and industry. Formed by the cream of Major universities as a collaborative vehicle to build shared research infrastructure, this organisation?s resources and staff are shared across all sites, encompassing national and regional areas.

As the Chief Executive Officer you will be responsible for the operations of state-of-the-art supercomputers, tera-scale data archives and visualisation systems for the use of Nation?s R&D community. As one of your core activities, you will target Industry Outreach Programs to engage business, National and State Agencies, to demonstrate the benefits of adopting advanced computing techniques.

A strategic focal point will be establishing focussed, collaborative research and development programs to enable agencies to address contemporary infrastructure challenges, such as those in urban transport and water supplies.

In this key role as Chief Executive your will aim to engage and encourage industry, research institutes and regional areas to use advanced computing and visualisation technologies. Some of your major Research and Development themes will include;

• BioInformatics - large-scale data management for computational biology and biomedicine;
  
• Computational Science - techniques for accelerating understanding in the physical sciences and
  
• Environmental Modelling - integrating multiple resources to enhance environmental management.

You will bring to this role sound political acumen, solid negotiating abilities and an exceptional talent to maintain effective long term relationships within government, corporate and community arenas at the highest levels. You will have exceptional commercial skills are required as is the ability to provide vision, strategy and leadership within this competitive area.

The successful person will be able to demonstrate their highly developed commercial skills and their character to negotiate effectively and influence at board and senior management level.
