TRANSLink, a Division of the Queensland Government’s Department of Transport, delivers the integrated public transport system covering the majority of South East Queensland. Since its inception in July 2004 TRANSLink has achieved sound progress, with significant increases in patronage and services and the recent successful introduction of the new “go card” single ticketing system for bus, train and ferry travel. From 1 July 2008 TRANSLink will become a Statutory Authority and is seeking an inaugural Chief Executive Officer. As CEO of the new TRANSLink Transit Authority you will be responsible for taking public transport services forward to the next level. - You will be responsible for the leadership and operations of the TRANSLink Transit Authority, creating leading edge service standards; formulating and implementing strategic and operational plans; improving and expanding the range of public transport services; coordinating, scheduling and integrating all TRANSLink public transport services across modes in the region;
- You will manage the introduction of new technology to improve TRANSLink public transport services, including real time passenger information and widespread use of “go card” technology across the region;
- Ideally the successful applicant will be tertiary qualified in a relevant discipline;
- An excellent executive remuneration package is on offer, reflecting the scale of the position’s responsibilities.
